25. Okkantasaṁyutta: On Arrival

I. The Eye — SN25.8: Craving For Sights

1At Sāvatthī.

“Mendicants, craving for sights is impermanent, perishing, and changing. Craving for sounds, craving for smells, craving for tastes, craving for touches, and craving for thoughts are impermanent, perishing, and changing.

Someone who has faith and confidence in these principles is called a follower by faith. …”

1Sāvatthinidānaṁ.

"Rūpataṇhā, bhikkhave, aniccā vipariṇāmī aññathābhāvī; saddataṇhā … gandhataṇhā … rasataṇhā … phoṭṭhabbataṇhā … dhammataṇhā aniccā vipariṇāmī aññathābhāvī.

Yo, bhikkhave, ime dhamme evaṁ saddahati adhimuccati, ayaṁ vuccati ‘saddhānusārī … pe … sambodhiparāyano’"ti.

Aṭṭhamaṁ.
