V. All is Impermanent — SN35.52: Disturbed

1“Mendicants, all is disturbed. And what is the all that is disturbed? The eye, sights, eye consciousness, and eye contact are disturbed. And the pleasant, painful, or neutral feeling that arises conditioned by eye contact is also disturbed.


The ear … nose … tongue … body …


The mind, thoughts, mind consciousness, and mind contact are disturbed. And the pleasant, painful, or neutral feeling that arises conditioned by mind contact is also disturbed.


Seeing this, a learned noble disciple grows disillusioned …


They understand: ‘Rebirth is ended, the spiritual journey has been completed, what had to be done has been done, there is no return to any state of existence.’”

Evaṁ passaṁ, bhikkhave, sutavā ariyasāvako cakkhusmimpi nibbindati, rūpesupi nibbindati, cakkhuviññāṇepi nibbindati, cakkhusamphassepi nibbindati. Yampidaṁ cakkhusamphassapaccayā uppajjati vedayitaṁ sukhaṁ vā dukkhaṁ vā adukkhamasukhaṁ vā tasmimpi nibbindati … pe … manasmimpi nibbindati, dhammesupi nibbindati, manoviññāṇepi nibbindati, manosamphassepi nibbindati. Yampidaṁ manosamphassapaccayā uppajjati vedayitaṁ sukhaṁ vā dukkhaṁ vā adukkhamasukhaṁ vā tasmimpi nibbindati. Nibbindaṁ virajjati; virāgā vimuccati; vimuttasmiṁ vimuttamiti ñāṇaṁ hoti.


‘Khīṇā jāti, vusitaṁ brahmacariyaṁ, kataṁ karaṇīyaṁ, nāparaṁ itthattāyā’ti pajānātī”ti.

Sabbaaniccavaggo pañcamo.

Tassuddānaṁ

Aniccaṁ dukkhaṁ anattā,
abhiññeyyaṁ pariññeyyaṁ;
Pahātabbaṁ sacchikātabbaṁ,
abhiññeyyapariññeyyaṁ;

Upaddutaṁ upassaṭṭhaṁ,
vaggo tena pavuccatīti.

Tassa vagguddānaṁ

Aniccavaggaṁ yamakaṁ,
Sabbaṁ vaggaṁ jātidhammaṁ;
Aniccavaggena paññāsaṁ,
Pañcamo tena pavuccatīti.
