So brutal are possessions, honor, and popularity. …”

1Sāvatthiyaṁ vihārati.

""Dāruṇo, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko.

Lābhasakkārasilokena abhibhūtassa pariyādiṇṇacittassa, bhikkhave, devadattassa sukko dhammo samucchedamagamā.

Evaṁ dāruṇo kho, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko … pe … sikkhitabban"ti.
