VII. Mindfulness Meditation — AN 9.67: Lower Fetters

1“Mendicants, there are five lower fetters. What five? Identity view, doubt, misapprehension of precepts and observances, sensual desire, and ill will. These are the five lower fetters.

1"Pañcimāni, bhikkhave, orambhāgiyāni saṁyojanāni. Katamāni pañca? Sakkāyadiṭṭhi, vicikicchā, sīlabbataparāmāso, kāmacchando, byāpādo – imāni kho, bhikkhave, pañcorambhāgiyāni saṁyojanāni.

2Imesaṁ kho, bhikkhave, pañcannaṁ orambhāgiyānaṁ saṁyojanānaṁ pahānāya … pe … ime cattāro satipaṭṭhānā bhāvetabbā"ti.
